Feed Arkansas Kids is a ministry through the Church at Rock Creek that provides weekend meals for homeless and food-insecure children in Central Arkansas. The concept is simple: children at risk of weekend hunger receive a bag with enough shelf-stable food to easily assemble into seven healthy meals and snacks.
Arkansas ranks #5 in the nation for child hunger. Feed Arkansas Kids' philosophy is simply to end child hunger by partnering with the schools in our communities to discreetly distribute food each week. The food is purchased with generous donations from our church members and contributions from local/national businesses.
Feed Arkansas Kids works with area school districts to locate the children in need. Volunteers assemble meal packs with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers then deliver the meal packs to over 50 schools each Friday.
The program works with school districts in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Saline County, Pulaski County, and Sheridan. We currently feed over 1,000 children each weekend.
